Toy Car Club is an exciting new online company that makes collectible, die-cast cars available once a month on an annual subscription basis. Each collector set features 12 miniature die-cast vehicles.
To subscribe, simply visit ToyCarClub.com, choose the car set to purchase for yourself or as a gift, and fill in your information. The company will send a new die-cast car each month for 12 months, along with a unique collector card that features a photo and historical explanation of each vehicle.
The die-cast vehicles make a great gift and are easy to send to someone special — a grandchild, son or daughter, father or friend. A personal greeting message from the sender accompanies each die-cast car.
“Give the car lover, young or old, in your life a gift that lets them know how special they are year round,” said Bob Kocher, president of ToyCarClub.com. “The small scale models are perfect for collectors to display in their homes or offices. Plus, the toy cars feature a pull-back propulsion system that makes them fun for kids to enjoy as well. Anyone would cherish receiving a new die-cast car in the mail each month!”
The Toy Car Club’s initial collector set is the Classic Car Group, which includes a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette, 1964 ford Mustang, 1955 ford Thunderbird, 1949 ford Woody Wagon and 1967 Volkswagen Classic Beetle. View the complete set online at .
The Classic Car Group is available for $34.99, which includes all postage, shipping and handling. The toy cars are shipped in the continental United States via the U.S. Postal Service. Chicco(R) Announces Voluntary Recall of KeyFit(R) and KeyFit(R) 30 Car Seat Bases

LANCASTER, Pa., June 2 /PRNewswire/ — Chicco(R) announced today a voluntary recall of KeyFit(R) and KeyFit(R) 30 car seat bases manufactured between February 26, 2008 and March 17, 2008. The bases covered by this recall are sold with the KeyFit, KeyFit 30, and Cortina Travel System as well as separately.
A manufacturing defect may prevent some of the bases from being tightly secured to a vehicle when the lower LATCH attachments are used as the method of installation. If the webbing were to slip during a vehicle crash, the base could move, possibly increasing the risk of injury.
These car seats and bases can still be used safely when installed with the vehicle’s safety belts instead of the LATCH connectors.
Approximately 18,000 units are affected by this recall. No injuries have been reported to Chicco.
Consumers with bases for KeyFit and KeyFit 30 car seats manufactured between February 26, 2008 and March 17, 2008 should contact Chicco at 1-800-807-8817 to obtain a replacement base. To determine whether a base is covered by this recall, an owner should identify the Serial Number, which can be found on the third line of a white label attached to the base. If the Serial Number is between 08 02 26 (corresponding to February 26, 2008) and 08 03 17 (corresponding to March 17, 2008), the base is covered by this recall.
“Protecting the children we serve is paramount to Chicco,” said Chicco USA CEO Greg Mansker. “That is why we are working diligently to alert consumers to stop using the lower LATCH attachments on bases for KeyFit and KeyFit 30 car seats manufactured between February 26, 2008 and March 17, 2008. We have set up a hotline to address consumers’ questions and explain the recall procedure. These car seats and bases can continue to be used safely if installed with the vehicle’s safety belts. We sincerely regret this manufacturing defect and any inconvenience the recall causes consumers.”
Consumers can visit or call the Chicco recall hotline at 1-800-807-8817 for more information on the recall and for assistance locating identifying information on the base.
Additionally, consumers can call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) toll-free Auto Safety Hotline at (888) 327-4236 or visit the NHTSA web site at .
